GCFDS 6th grade champions

Louisiana Powerhouse is an elite organization with elite players at all five positions. This program won all there games by 20 or more points and i expect this group to win national tournaments all weekend.

TRU Elite had an impressive weekend and they had to beat some very good teams to win the championship. They played a very good SA Warriors team to win. They some played hard nose defense and moved the ball well all game which led to some big shots down the strech which won the game.

Roswell Bombers beat the Georgia Jayhawks 63-55 to win the 12 and under division of the Georgia Cup Finals tournament on Sunday.

Coming into this 13U championship game the Georgia Impact and the Georgia King’s both have been playing good basketball.

The Kings had a very difficult road to the chip beating out a good NSE team followed by a very good Georgia State Warriors squad. However, this Georgia Impact Team was too much for them and everyone else they faced this weekend.

Atlanta Celtics 25 beat Team Georgia Wildcats 64-44 to win the 11 and under division of the Georgia Cup Finals tournament on Sunday.

The Georgia Wildcats were looking for one thing, and one thing only going into the championship game Sunday afternoon - redemption. Getting a chance to avenge their only loss of the tournament the Georgia Wildcats simply wanted it more.

Pressing from the jump, the Wildcats were able to force a plethora of turnovers which lead to baskets at the other end. Thomas Rogels dominated from the tip for the Georgia Wildcats, beating the other teams press for and-1 buckets and easy lay-ups.

A second half spurt from the N.E Jax Gamechangers put the Suns Team Harris way as they won the 16U division championship. The gamechangers were on a tear all weekend, beating several opponents by a double-digit margin. Their defense was stifling as they held the Suns Team Harris to just 38 points total, many of which were earned every bit of the way. Korin Bradley was named as the 16U division MVP and for good reason. Several box scores over the weekend were peppered with his scoring spurts.

The Riviera Beach Chargers went home as champions this past weekend in the 8th grade division at the Florida Girls State Qualifier.  They started things off with a 35-29 win over South Florida Fast Break.  They then defeated Bad Girls 47-38.  They ended pool play with a demoralizing loss to MSC Jr. Allstars, 13-46.  Their 2-1 pool play record earned them a spot in the championship with a chance at redemption against MSC Jr. Allstars.  They took the opportunity at hand and defeated the MSC Jr. Allstars 49-41 to take home the championship.

Congratulations to the Jupiter Jaguars on winning the Florida Girls State Qualifier.  They kicked off the weekend with a 37-34 victory over the Hurricanes.  They followed it up with a commanding 51-29 win over Flight Time.  They then capped off pool play with a 38-35 victory over South Florida Fastbreak.  Their 3-0 mark in pool play placed them into the championship with a rematch against the Hurricanes. This game went almost the same as it did before, with the Jaguars pulling out the win by a score of 46-43.

11U Nike Cy-fair elite academy played some really good basketball and and there team defense and ball movement gave them the edge to win the championship.
