Tournament Results

Loyalty 1st 7th grade champions

Loyalty 1st is a team that has been under the radar but they are very elite and showed why they are the top program in Alabama. The was able to win the championship down the stretch cling the game out in the final minutes. I expect this team to end the season nationally ranked.

North Mississippi Warriors 5th grade champions

The nationally ranked North Mississippi Warriors cane to play at the MLK Classic. After a close game with the Kissimmee Wolfpack the Warriors handled business all the way to the championship. They got up early and never looked back and they showed why they are a top team in the country.

Elite Tru Freshman 4th grade champions

This championship game came down to the last shot with Elite Tru Freshman pulling out the win. This team plays at a high level and has active hands on defense. They wear you down with pressure and the crash the boards hard to create second chance baskets. This program will upset a lot of teams this year.

Kissimmee Wolfpack 3rd grade champions

Kissimmee Wolfpack 3rd grade is a really well coached team that played some great basketball all weekend. These young players had good ball movement, ball handling, and finished well around the rim. I expect this team to win a lot of tournaments this year.

Elite Heat 8th grade champions

Elite lost there first game but after that they were locked in and played some great basketball all weekend. This group thrives off defense, hustle, and attacking the basket. This team will play in the Addidas circuit this year and I expect them to do well.

EP Elite 6th grade champions

EP elite is a powerhouse program from Louisiana that fought hard to win the championship. This team has some very skilled players and can create turnovers and knock down 3’s very well. I expect this program to do nothing but get better and keep winning.

GPI

The 10th grade division of the US Amateur Basketball National Championships was deep and full of talented teams. So getting to the title game was half the battle.

The top two teams who made it to the big stage made sure the title game was as good as you would expect it to be.

The GPI All-Stars beat the Atlanta Playmakers 59-53 in a terrific battle.

For Gainesville Stampede, Kensha Williams led the way with 13 points while Israel Wilcox scored 11 points and Quintin Williams added nine.

Wellington Wolves

The Wellington Wolves and NSE teams impressed anyone that watched them over the weekend at the US Amateur Basketball National Championships. So when the two powers locked horns in the title game of the 7th grade division, it didn’t come as a big surprise that the match-up was as good as you’d hope it would be.

The two teams traded buckets all game long and the Wellington Wolves scored one more than NSE to claim the title.
