Wellington Wolves 8th Grade Champs

The Wellingtown Wolves came out on top as the champions of the 8th Grade division.  The Wolves cruised through pool play with a record of 3-0.  They took their dominance into bracket play by defeating Team Knight by a score of 59-49.  That put them into the championship game against Blue Storm who also came out of pool play with a record of 3-0.  It was a very close game but the Wolves came out on top to win the title, 54-51.  Marvel Allen earned himself the honor of MVP for his play throughout the weekend.  His teammates Richardson Noncent and Brandon Walters were awarded as All Tournament

Team Edition 4th Grade Champs

Team Edition were crowned champions of the 4th Grade division of the MLK Slamfest.  Team Edition started the weekend off by going 4-0 in pool with wins over USI Elite, Team Knight, Savage Elite, and MBA.  By going 4-0 in pool play, it gave them a spot in the championship against USI Elite.  They won the championship in blowout fashion by a score of 46-12.  Sebastian Martinez brought home the honors of tournament MVP.  His teammates Isaiah Trelles and Daniel Marin earned themselves respective spots on the All Tournament team.  USI Elite's CJ Westbrook earned himself the Mr.

MLK Classic

The Alabama Kings were crowned champions of the MLK Classic.  The Kings went 2-0 in pool play defeating SBG 25-14 and LA Blazers 18-13.  Their 2-0 pool play record put them into bracket play with a matchup against the Madison Landsharks.  The Kings defeated the Landsharks by a score of 20-10.  That win put them into the championship againt North Mississippi Warriors.  The Kings finished the week perfect by defeating the Warriors 24-21.

The Alabama Dream bounced back from a tough 36-15 loss to Elite 2.0 defeating Ball City Elite 30-19 in pool play.  This win gave them the second best record in their pool.  The wouldn’t be a rematch between The Alabama Dream and Elite 2.0 thanks to Memphis Grind.  The Alabama Dream won their semifinal game by three and won the championship by 1 with a score of 32-31 defeating Memphis Grind. 

Team Champion

Congratulations to the 5th grade boys from the Wellington Wolves for winning the MLK Slamfest.  After going 2-1 in pool play they earned themselves a spot in the championship game and a rematch against Team Knight.  They were defeated by Team Knight in pool play by a score of 45-38.  The Wolves were determined to not let history repeat itself.  They came out in the championship game and blew out Team Knight by a score of 44-25.  They were led by the MVP of the tournament, Benjamin Wigodner.  He had some assistance from All Tournament selections Brian Boston and Jaylen Bates as well.  Team K

Team Edition 3rd Grade Champs

Congratulations to Team Edition on winning the 3rd grade division of the MLK Slamfest.  Team Edition rolled through pool play going 2-0 and earned themselves a spot in the championship game against Savage Elite.  They continued their dominance by winning 48-19.  

Team Champion

Team Swoop put on a show en route to winning the MLK Slamfest.  They went 4-0 in pool play defeating Sharks, Make the Play, Klutch Elite White, and Klutch Elite Black along the way.  They earned a championship matchup against Klutch Elite Black who went 3-1 in pool play.  Team Swoop continued their dominance over the rest of the field by winning the championship in blowout fashion by a score of 75-47.

Team Champion

Weston Wolfpack took home the title in the 6th Grade Division at the MLK Slamfest.  After breezing through pool play and defeating Team Knight and MBA, their 2-0 record earned them a first round bye in bracket play.  They opened up their bracket play by defeating Tamiami Magic, 46-28.  Their championship game looked no different then how they played all weekend.  They handled Florida Flight Elite to win the championship by a score of 52-20.

Team Champion

Florida Flight fought their way to the top to win the MLK Slamfest Championship.  They went perfect in pool play by defeating Team Knight 44-27, Nike Team Florida 63-60, and MBA 54-17.  Their pool play performance earned them a championship game against a familiar opponent in Nike Team Florida.  History repeated itself as Florida Flight defeating Nike Team Florida by 3 points once again but this time 62-59

Zionsville Green 5A Champions

Congratulations to the boys of Zionsville Green on winning the 5A bracket championship.  They opened up bracket play with a convincing 47-20 win over Avon Gold.  They then rolled into the championship with a semi-final win over Terre Haute South by a score of 34-16.  The championship game was a close one, but Zionsville Green came out on top by defeating Greenfield by a score of 33-28.
